What We Love About Trucking

Trucking often gets lumped in with general labor jobs, and as a result, isn't always sold as an exciting career. With the demand for drivers constantly growing, it's clear that many people aren't aware of what a career in trucking can provide them.

It's about more than good pay and steady work. Anyone who has chosen the trucking life can tell you that there are many great reasons to get into the industry. Here are just a few.

You get to see the world (or at least a part of it).

Trucking can take you just about anywhere–along scenic coastlines, through vibrant cities, across the Northern ice roads… there's a reason so many truckers take up photography as a hobby! If sitting in the same desk, surrounded by the same walls and staring out the same window every day is your idea of a nightmare, trucking might be the jobs for you. There's always something new to see.

Your boss isn't staring over your shoulder.

Of course, as with any job, you will have someone to answer to. The good news, however, is that your boss won't be standing behind you every time you turn around. Some people work best independently and are most productive when they're alone. These people make great truckers!

There's nothing like the open road.

Ah, the open road. Is there anything better feeling than getting comfortable in your seat, cranking the tunes and setting out for your destination? If you love the freedom and sense of adventure that comes with driving for miles, why not make a career out of it?

The trucking community is amazing.

The trucking community is close-knit, helpful and always lots of fun. Whether you're chatting with other drivers at rest stops or connecting with other trucking professionals on Twitter, we promise you will meet some of the most interesting and genuine people in this industry. Trucking can be a challenging career at times, but there is no shortage of support and kindness to help get you through.
