Job Description

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements

Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

Build formwork for foundations and grade beams per drawing specifications

Build formwork for concrete sidewalks, barrier curbs, swales, and curb and gutters per drawing specifications

Build formwork for concrete piles and pilasters per drawing specifications

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware

Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures

Remove all formwork as above and organize formwork to be used in a similar fashion on future projects

May drive to and from each project.

Requirements

-Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

-Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate is required OR completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program will help to qualify.

- Basic math skills are an asset.

- Driver’s License is an asset.

Salary: $29.50 per hour, 40 – 44 Hours per week.

Important information:

This position will require flexibility on schedule. The employee will work from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Fridays from 7:00 AM to 3:30; with 30 minutes of unpaid lunch time and 2 paid 15-minute breaks. Overtime may be required based on the clients’ needs.
