Job Description:

Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted

Repair cracks and holes

Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces

Prepare walls for painting (Scraping, Sanding, Caulking)

Paint spraying and coating surfaces

Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster

Maintain all tools and equipment

Ensure compliance with safety regulations on construction sites

Estimate and track materials needed for each painting project and manage inventory to ensure efficient work progress.

Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts.

Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to coordinate painting schedules and meet project timelines.

Apply finishing techniques, including caulking and light plastering, to ensure surfaces are properly prepared for painting.

Drive a van to and from the work locations

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of secondary school is preferred.

-Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in the trade is required. If the candidate does not have at least 4 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required.

-Experience using roller painting and brush painting is required.

-Experience in drywall taping/patching is required.

-Valid driver’s license is required.

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, bending, crouching, kneeling, ability to distinguish between colours, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, fast-paced environment

Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs.).

Language: Basic English is required

Salary: $36.00 hourly, 40-45 hours per week.

Important Information:

This position requires flexibility in schedule. The worker will be required to work 5 days per week, 8-9 hours per day, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, (sometimes starting at 8:30am or 9:00am), occasional Saturday’s schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Overtime might be required, including weekends (roughly once every 2-4 weeks) and holidays according to the business needs.
