Performs journey-level maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial and commercial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) equipment and systems; and performs related work as required. Agency procedures and HVAC codes. The position reports to 4030 Hummer Road in Annandale Virginia and will be dispatched to various Park Authority sites throughout the county. Working hours are from 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday. Works under general direction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to a high school diploma or GED issued by a state department of education; plus a two-year technical degree in air conditioning functions such as: heating, cooling, and ventilation; plus two years of progressively responsible air conditioning or HVAC experience or completion of an apprentice-level vocational training program in air conditioning for a total of four years of progressively responsible air conditioning or HVAC experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous HVAC level work: ability to operate a personal computer, using MS Office software; Previous work order systems experience. Previous HVAC preventative maintenance experience
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Driver's license (required)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb using ladders or portable lifts. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
