Job Description: The role of the Rigger – Telecommunication is to perform all aspect of tower and rooftop installations and maintenance as well as all antenna system installation and maintenance.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads (able to lift 75 lbs of materials to chest height), Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Tight deadlines

Additional Skills: Complete and maintain test and service reports; Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Fibre optics; Copper; Coaxial line
Major Work Area: Service; Repair; Maintenance; Installation
Specific Skills: Test equipment to locate transmission faults, Splice, join and connect wires, Repair or replace defective telephone equipment, Install trunking systems, circuits and equipment, Inspect and test trunking systems, Determine nature, cause and location of trouble, Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, Good mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of power and hand tools.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Languages: English
Education and Work Experience:
• Completion of a four-year telecommunications line and cable apprenticeship program or related education and at least one year of work experience in the trade; or
• Completion of a two-year college program in electronics and at least two years of work experience in the trade; or
• A combination of over three years work experience in the trade and some industry-related or other specialized courses.
