Facilities Electrician

LHH is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician for our client's Facility Maintenance Team. As an Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional maintenance of plant systems for our valued client. Your responsibilities will include preventative and corrective maintenance, system assessments, equipment repair, and adherence to safety and health standards. You will work under the guidance of the Facility Maintenance Manager, collaborating with other trades as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, apparatus, and devices

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of motor and motor controls, variable frequency drives, PLC controllers, and power distribution systems

Familiarity with low voltage and fire alarm systems

Follow guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations, and EMCOR standard practices

Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and ARC Flash equipment during live troubleshooting evolutions

Read and understand system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine the configuration and purpose of system components

Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and building equipment

Diagnose and replace malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures

Conduct tests and dismantle malfunctioning systems to identify faulty components

Plan wiring layout and perform installation of wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings

Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment

Qualifications:

Successful completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program or graduate of a certified technical school with Journeyman status

Training in motor and motor controls, variable frequency drives, and PLC/BMS controls

Ability to read complex wiring diagrams, identify electrical components, and troubleshoot control circuits

Proficiency in using voltmeters, amp meters, ohm meters, meggers, and amp-probes

Five to seven years of related experience in a manufacturing facility

Valid driver's license

Journeyman Card

Local License if applicable by local jurisdiction

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Familiarity with NFPA 70E and certification in Aerial Lift/Boom Lift operation

Intermediate knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Project), email and intranet use, and JDE/Maximo CMMS

Proficiency in basic mathematical concepts, algebra, and geometry

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization

Understanding of OSHA guidelines, including Lock-out/Tag-out and HAZCOM

Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations with customers and subordinates
