Food Processing Labourer

Job duties:

Food safety/handling skills

Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials

Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines

Feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers

Provide customer service

Remove filled containers from conveyors

Manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers

Feed and unload processing machines

Check products and packaging for basic quality defects

Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties

Clean machines and immediate work areas

Requirements:

-Education: Some secondary education is required.

-Experience: A minimum of 12 months of experience handling, preparing, processing, portioning, and packaging meat-based food products, including restaurant-grade meat products and gently cooked, human-grade pet food is required.

-Experience following food safety, sanitation, quality-control, and proper product-handling procedures is also required.

-Must take direction and abide by safety rules

-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Hand-eye coordination, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Handling heavy loads, Work under pressure.

-Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

-Language: English is required

Wage: $21.85 per hour. 40 – 44 Hours per week

Important Information: Regular schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. Flexibility on schedule is needed as some weekend work and overtime may be required depending on the business needs.
