General Labourer - Manufacturing

Job Duties:

• Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
  
• Check and weigh materials and products
  
• Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products
  
• Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers
  
• Perform other labouring and elemental activities
  
• Clean machines and immediate work areas
  
• Complete examination of finished product by checking height, shape, color and consistency by applying knowledge of proper company standards as instructed and applicable for in process systems.
  
• Complete block checks, remove any defective pieces from pallet or board and replace defective pieces with quality pieces.
  
• May drive forklifts if needed.
  

Requirements:

Education: No specific education is required

Experience: Experience is a strong asset. On-the-job training will be provided

Driver’s license is an asset

Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Work under pressure, Overtime required

Weight handling: Up to 45kg (100 lbs)

Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty, Hot

Language: Basic level of English is required.

Salary: $21.26 hourly, 30 - 60 hours per week

Important Information: Work schedule is 5 days a week, on a rotational basis. Workers must work 12 hours shifts, from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm or 5:30 pm to 5:30 am. Flexibility on schedule is required. Work on weekends and holidays may be required. Overtime is required.
