The main responsibilities of our Insulators are the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of insulation, finishing and weatherproofing materials with a high standard of workmanship using a variety of tools and materials. Insulators work both indoors and outdoors, year-round in commercial and industrial settings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Reads specifications, such as blueprints and data, to determine requirements.
• Install Cryogel insulation on pipes, tanks, vessels, and other industrial equipment for cold service applications, ensuring effective thermal performance and minimal thermal bridging.
• Able to select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation (spraying, pinwelding, wiring, pasting, strapping, taping) according to the type and shape of surface, whether or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is being used for.
• Able to demonstrate the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of insulation, finishing and weatherproofing materials to a high standard of workmanship.
• Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, canvas, plastic sheeting or cement.
• Able to remove or seal old asbestos insulation.
• Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
At Brock, we are committed to supporting the well-being and professional growth of our employees. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits package within the BCRCC All Employee Standard Industrial Agreement for the for the LNG Canada Facility project includes:
• Total Package Rate of Pay: $68.73 (8-10 hours per day ).
• Alternate Shift Schedule: 12 days on 2 days off.
• Regularly scheduled rest and meal breaks.
• Voluntary Overtime: The first two (2) hours of overtime, Monday through Friday, shall be paid at once and one-half (1 ½) times the otherwise applicable straight time hourly base wage rate. All other overtime hours, including all hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays, shall be payable at two (2) times the otherwise applicable straight time hourly wage rate.
• Shift Premiums: Any employee who is employed on an afternoon (after 9:00 a.m. but before 8:30 p.m.) or night shift (after 8:30 p.m. but on or before 1:00 a.m.) will be paid a shift premium. This premium does not attract vacation or holiday pay and will not be paid on an hour paid at overtime rates.
• Room and Board: Camp provided accommodations.
• Vacation Pay and Statutory Holiday Pay: Annual vacation pay and statutory holiday pay shall be combined at the total rate of twelve percent (12%) of wages earned, and shall be paid on each pay cheque and upon termination of employment.
• Union Benefit Plan: Entitlement to employer contributions to the Union Benefits Plan.
• Union Training Fund: Entitlement to employer contributions to the Union Training Fund.
• Perspective Employee Recruitment Fund: Entitlement to employer contribution to the Prospective Employee recruitment Fund.
• Contract Administration Fund: Entitlement to employer contribution to the CLR Contract administration fund.
• Carpentry Employee Association Fund: Entitlement to employer contributions to the Carpentry Employee Association Fund.
• BC Construction Industry Rehabilitation Plan: Entitlement to employer contribution and access to services and resources to support your health well-being.
• Construction Industry of BC Substance Abuse Testing and Treatment Program: Entitlement to employer contribution and access to services and resources to support your health well-being.
• Safety Equipment: Brock supplies all safety equipment (except personal apparel), at no cost.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Certified Tradesperson: Possesses a valid TQ certificate in a certified trade; or Uncertified Trades Person: Possesses the equivalent skills, ability, and expertise of a Certified Tradesperson, but does not possess a valid TQ certificate in the particular trade.
• CSTS is a minimum safety requirement - other tickets that may be required are ESC Fall Protection, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Standard First Aid.
• Must be able to supply a negative Drug & Alcohol Pre-Access test.
