Fire Rover, LLC seeks qualified, competent, motivated, and experienced individuals to join our team as a Field Service Technician. As a Field Service Technician with Fire Rover, you travel to worksites and facilities to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections and testing of our fire detection and suppression systems.
Our ideal candidate has a wide range of experience completing mechanical and low-voltage equipment repairs with a background based in the security and fire installation/service industries. This is a “road warrior” position that will have you on the road upwards of three weeks at a time. Candidates should be mechanically and technically inclined and detail oriented in their work and written word. In addition, qualified applicants should have a minimum of two years’ experience, with a desire to learn in all aspects of our equipment platforms.
Responsibilities
• Travel to client sites (national footprint focusing on the Northeast) to perform maintenance on equipment and electronics
• Provide troubleshooting as well performing installation of replacement equipment if/when needed
• Attend to the needs of the customer as required
• Perform tests and diagnostics to ensure hardware is in good working order
• Ensure all hardware, electronics and software meet specifications
• Track maintenance and repairs in our company database
• Periodically assist our installation crews in the installation of new systems
• When not travelling, assist in the production of new systems in our Farmington Hills, Michigan production facility or other remote work as a systems analyst
Skills & Requirements
• Computers/Networking
• Low Voltage Wiring
• CCTV Camera Systems
• Thermal Imaging Cameras
• Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, database and remote-control systems
• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other technical products
• Must be willing to travel long distances to client sites (national base of customers) approximately 75% of job will be travelling/on the road
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Needs to possess excellent troubleshooting skills
• Must have strong customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage service calls
• Ability to work in tight spaces
• Must be comfortable with heights, and experienced in working from a lift
• Proficiency in English
• A desire to learn and grow within our organization
• Current and unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
