Job Duties:

• Interpret welding process specifications
  
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
  
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
  
• Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  
• Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
  
• Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
  
• Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (AOC)
  
• Determine weldability of materials
  
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  
• Using (MIG) welding and torch cutting to manufacture and repair waste and recycling equipment
  
• Use a variety of hand and power tools
  
• Read and use measuring tape
  
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment
  
• Set up and operate a hydraulic brake press
  
• Follow work orders and service requisitions to ensure components, such as compactors, balers, and panels, are completed for scheduled dates
  
• Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications according to drawings.
  
• Prepare daily maintenance inspection logs for equipment
  

Requirements

Education: Some secondary education is required

Experience: At least 2 years of MIG Welding experience is required.

Ability to Torch Cut

Experience operating the Brake Press

Ability to work independently and work well in a team

Forklift experience is an asset

Language: English is required.

Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 hourly, 30 - 40 hours per week

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. Work schedule is from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Overtime and work on weekends may be required depending on business needs. **We guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of the weather.
