The RTAA is seeking a candidate with experience in construction and/or ground maintenance to join our hard-working Airfield Maintenance team as an Airfield Technician I / II / III. There is one (1) position open. Both internal and external applicants will be considered. Applicants must be available to work all shifts (day, swing, and graveyard) 7 days a week - including holidays. To be considered for this position, applicants must indicate they are available for day, swing and night shifts (all three), and must check the appropriate boxes under availability on the RTAA online application. Shift assignments are generally determined by seniority using a Shift Bid System.
This position is in a flexibly staffed class series. The selected individual may be hire at any level within the class series for which the applicant may be qualified.
At the RTAA, our Airfield Technicians are critical to helping keep the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Reno-Stead Airport operational and safe for aircraft operations. Airfield Technicians work individually, and as part of a team, outdoors, performing a variety of manual, skilled and unskilled tasks for the routine and emergency construction, maintenance and repair of airfield, roadways, buildings, facilities, parking lots, systems and related equipment.

Entry Salary: Airfield Technician I $15.10 - $19.11 / hour; Airfield Technician II $17.95 - $22.71 / hour; Airfield Technician III $19.33 - $24.45 / hour. Opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a maximum of $29.58 per hour. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. This is an hourly and overtime eligible position.

Airfield Technician I –
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in construction, grounds maintenance or outside maintenance work in a commercial or industrial setting.
Licensing: A valid driver's license is required at the time of application. Must obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within in 24-months from the date of appointment.
