The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking a qualified candidate with journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to join the Building Maintenance and Services team as a Facilities HVAC Technician IV! There is one (1) position open. Both internal and external applicants will be considered. Applicants must be available to work all shifts (day, swing, and graveyard) 7 days a week - including holidays. To be considered for this position, applicants must indicate they are available for day, swing and night shifts (all three), and must check the appropriate boxes under availability on the RTAA online application. Shift assignments are generally determined by seniority using a Shift Bid System.
At the RTAA, the Building Maintenance and Services Division is a key member of the Facilities and Maintenance Department. The Facilities HVAC Technician IV reports to a Facilities Supervisor and is responsible for the installation, inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial/industrial air conditioners, refrigeration units, computer controlled energy systems, boilers, circulation pumps, absorption units, cooling towers, heating and ventilation equipment, and other commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and systems for RTAA buildings and facilities.
The RTAA Facilities HVAC Technician IV is also part of our larger RTAA customer service team. This team is dedicated to helping provide the public with a pleasant and safe experience while traveling through the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. All of RTAA's Facilities HVAC Technician IV's are expected to approach their work with a positive, helpful, customer service mindset.
The nature of the work requires a strong understanding of commercial air conditioning and heating system maintenance and repair; the ability to operate and make changes to computerized energy management systems; and the ability to perform a full range of skilled HVACR maintenance and repair duties under minimal supervision.
Entry Salary: $20.82 - $26.34 per hour, with opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $31.84 per hour. In addition, employees working non-day shifts receive an additional $1.50 per hour of shift differential pay. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. This is an hourly and overtime eligible position.

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent, and completion of a recognized HVACR vocational program; OR equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
Experience: Three (3) years of journey-level HVACR experience in an industrial/commercial environment. This must include hydronic heating and cooling systems, boilers, circulation pumps, package air conditioning units, gas fired heating units and related commercial/ industrial plant maintenance and building control/automation system experience.
Licenses: A Valid Driver's License is required at the time of application.
Certification: Must have a valid CFC certification at time of application.
