Job Description:

Perform livestock feeding

Plant and cultivate crops

Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing and cultivating

Perform general farm duties

Fulfill instructions from Management and provide adequate care with farm duties

Mix and weigh feed batches daily using weigh scales and conveyor belts

Provide cattle with clean feeding areas including pushing feed in a timely manner with a machine and ensuring cattle to be properly fed at all times

Able to safely navigate equipment around the yard and buildings

Maneuver trucks with trailers around the yard transporting cattle to and from buildings on the yard

Ability to work efficiently with a manager in a shop environment fixing equipment / managing breakdowns on equipment

Ability to focus and work closely with farm management on equipment handling and interpreting instructions efficiently during harvest time.

Requirements:

- Education: Some secondary education is required

- Experience: At least 7 months of experience is required. On the job training will be provided

- Driver’s license type G OR being eligible to obtain it is required

- Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Bending, crouching,

kneeling, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Combination of standing and walking, Standing for extended periods, Ability to work independently, Hand-eye coordination

- Personal suitability: Flexibility, Efficient interpersonal skills, Organized, Team player.

- Work site environment: Odours, Dairy, Livestock, Dirty.

- Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

- Language: Basic English is required.

Salary: $18.00 hourly, 30 – 46.5 hours per week

Benefits: Parking available, Staff accommodation provided at a discounted rate, coveralls provided. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Transportation to and from the work location is provided by the employer.

Important Information: The employee will work 5 – 6 days per week from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Saturdays would be 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sundays are always off. We guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of the weather.
