Job Description:
- Assist to prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frosting according to recipes or special customer orders
- Assist to frost and decorate cakes and baked goods
- Assist to ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
- Assist to bake mixed dough and batters
- Assist to prepare special orders
- Assist to draw up production schedules
- Inspect kitchen and food services areas
- Assist to operate machinery
- Assist for the requisition or order of materials, equipment and supplies
- Assist to prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Assist to organize and maintain inventory
- Assist in scaling, mixing, producing, baking, packaging a variety of products including dough and pastry items
Qualifications
Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school is required.
Experience: Not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
Personal suitability: Initiative, Client focus, Accurate, Judgement, Effective interpersonal skills, Team player, organized.
Language: English is required
Work Setting: Bake shop
Salary: $14.75 hourly, 37.5 hours per week.
Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. The candidate will work from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. Weekend work and overtime may be required based on the business’ needs.
