Job Description:

• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
• Analyze operating costs and other data
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
• Create new recipes
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• ​​Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
• Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of high school is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in commercial food preparation is required. If the candidate does not have at least 4 years of experience, then equivalent training or Cook’s trade certification is required.
• Knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres is a strong asset.
• One year of experience in a supervisory capacity is a strong asset.
• Ability to supervise 1 to 2 people.

Salary: $20 hourly, 40 hours per week.

Important information: Position requires flexibility in scheduling. The employee will work 8 hours per

day, 5 days per week. We are open 7 days a week, from 7:00am to 9:00pm. The schedule involves shifts, evening or weekend hours as needed. **Shifts may vary with some days starting at early morning and others finishing at late-night** Overtime may be required.
