Construction Helpers/Labourers

Job duties include the following:

• Clean and prepare construction site

• Load, unload materials, machinery or tools and distribute to the appropriate locations

• Erect and dismantle ramps or other temporary structures

• Dig ditches, trenches or specified areas using picks and shovels

• Carry wheelbarrows

• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites/yard

• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment or materials

• Backfill excavations with earth or stone to specified levels

• Assist with re-enforcing straight and wavy forming

• Assist with grading gravel to specified levels

• Place and tie steel

• Clean tools/machinery when needed

• Assist with other construction activities on site as required 

Minimum experience/skills requirement for the job:

• No work experience required - will train

• No minimum education requirement

• Must be willing to handle physically demanding work, carry heavy loads up to 35 kgs and work within tight deadlines

• Must be a team player, exercise good judgement and pay close attention to details
