Job Description:
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and cost, and monitor and order supplies.
Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
Clean kitchen and work areas.
Organize and manage catering events.
Prepare and assemble Mexican food according to restaurant standards.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience: Completion of a two years apprenticeship program for cooks or completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety or several years of commercial cooking experience is required.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding.

Language:
English is required,
Ability to communicate in Spanish is an asset.
Salary: $18.00 hourly, 40 hours per week
Benefits: Gratuities, parking available, discount of food of the restaurant, incentives on performance, transportation cost covered if worker needs to relocate.
Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. The shifts are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, or from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Work weekends and holidays is required. Workers will be given two days off on a rotational basis.
