Job Description:
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
Inspect kitchen and food service area
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Clean kitchen and work areas
Manage kitchen operations
Qualifications
Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school is required
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. In the event that the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, a post-secondary certificate is required
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding,
Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads.
Weight handling: Up to 23 Kg (50 lbs)
Personal Suitability: Judgement, Flexibility, Team player, Organized, Initiative, Dependability, Reliability
Language: English is required
Salary: $17.00 hourly, 40 hours per week.

Important information: Workday will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 6:30 PM on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The work schedule includes one paid 30-minute lunch break, and two unpaid 15-minute coffee breaks. Tuesdays and Sundays off. Flexibility in schedule is required.
