Job Description:

• Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted
  
• Repair cracks and holes
  
• Mix paint to desired color and texture
  
• Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
  
• Advise consumers on colors and choice of wall coverings
  
• Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces manually or with machines
  
• Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
  
• Train apprentices
  
• Repair drywall
  
• Brush and Roll at a high level without supervision
  
• Drive to job sites to perform job duties
  

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of secondary education is required.
  
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required Or Completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program will help to qualify.
  
• Experience using airless spray machines, painting exterior projects, and working at commercial painting sites is a strong asset.
  
• Experience repairing drywall is required.
  
• Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Ability to distinguish between colours, Physically demanding, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks
  
• Personal Suitability: Reliability, Initiative, Flexibility, Client focus, Effective interpersonal skills, Team player
  
• Work site environment: indoors, outdoors, at heights, confined spaces
  
• Valid driver’s license is required to drive to clients’ sites
  
• Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  

Salary: $32.00 per hour, 40-44 hours per week.

Benefits: A vehicle will be supplied by the company during working hours.

Important information:

- Flexibility on schedule is required. The work schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Work on weekends and overtime (extended hours) may be required depending on the business’s needs.
