Job Description:

Diagnose livestock health issues

Disinfect pens, barns

Handling animals

Milk goats by hand or using machines

Monitoring animal health

Organize tasks to accomplish the work

Perform animal grooming activities

Perform livestock feeding

Prepare a clean, dry area for goats that are calving

Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly

Track and report on current feed inventory

Treat livestock health issues

Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures

Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs

Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed

Maintain quality control and production records

Requirements

Education: No education required

Experience: Experience is an asset, on-the-job training will be provided

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload, Hand-eye coordination, Sound discrimination, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling.

Salary: 17.60 hourly, 50 – 65 hours per week

Important Information: 6-12 hours of work per day. The work shifts typically begin at 4:30 am and some may extend until 10:00 pm as needed. Split shifts. Additionally, employees are expected to work on weekends and holidays in accordance with business operations. The standard schedule involves working for 13 consecutive days followed by one day off.
