Job Description:

Maintain laboratory equipment

Compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor,

Perform quality control testing on asphalt and aggregate samples to ensure conformance of the materials to industry standards.

Collecting, documenting, and preparing material samples (granular, aggregate, and asphalt) for testing.

Accurately complete tests, calculations, and reports in accordance to standardized procedures.

Identify and report out-of-tolerance results to the Laboratory Supervisor.

Keep laboratory and personal work area clean and organized.

Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.

Adhere to safe work practices, as per the Capital Paving Health & Safety Policy

Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary education is required

Experience: At least 2 years of experience is required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Large workload, Physically demanding, ability to work independently

Weight handling: Up to 30 Kg (65 lbs)

Language: English is required

Salary: 29.00 hourly, 47.5 hours per week

Benefits: Travel expenses paid by the employer if the worker needs to relocate.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The regular schedule is 5 days per week, 9.5 hours per day. Shifts may vary depending on the business needs, including weekends and night shifts.
