Business information: Kamloops Surgical Centre is a locally owned business established in 2003. Catering for a variety of surgeries including, orthopedics, dental, general surgery, plastics, cosmetic, neurology, and cataract removal, we have three operating rooms and a six bed recovery area. We also have our own in house Medical Device Reprocessing department and are accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Job Description:
Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions
Assist in surgery and other medical procedures
Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care
Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
Engage in research activities related to nursing
Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions
Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice
Provide nursing care
Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming
Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
Perform administrative tasks
Requirements:
Education: A university degree or college diploma in nursing is required.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a nurse is required.
Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses:
Be eligible for Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
An Advanced Life Support (ALS) certificate and a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate are required.
Certified Perioperative Nurse Certification (CNOR) is a strong asset
Ability to supervise 4 people.

Salary: $58.00 hourly, 37.5 hours per week.

Important information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The position requires working on 7.5 hours per day shifts which will be scheduled anywhere from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required depending on the business needs.
