General Labourer – manufacturing

Job Description:

Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment

Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers

Clean machines, equipment, and immediate work areas

Check and weigh materials and products

Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products

Perform other labouring and elemental activities

Requirements:

-Education: Not required

-Experience: Experience is an asset

-On-the-job-training is provided

-Having a driver’s license is an asset

-Knowledge on the use of power tools is a strong asset

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods of time (mostly), Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of standing and walking, Bending, crouching and kneeling, Tight deadlines, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye coordination, Handling heavy loads, Large workload, Work under pressure

-Personal suitability: Flexibility, Team player, Reliability, Initiative

-Worksite environment: Fast-paced environment, Noisy, Dusty, Hot, Cold

-Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

-Language: Basic level of English is required.

Salary: $17.90 hourly, 44 hours per week.

Benefits: Health, dental, group insurance, life insurance, and vision benefits are provided. Company tools are provided, PPE provided except for safety steel toe shoes. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.

Important Information: Work schedule: from Monday to Thursday, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm (it includes 30 minutes for unpaid lunchtime and 2 paid healthy breaks of 15 minutes each), and on Fridays from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (it includes 30 minutes for unpaid lunchtime and 1 paid healthy break of 15 minutes). Shifts may vary according to the business needs, therefore, flexibility in schedule may be required. Weekend work and overtime may be required. The schedule will be the same in both summer and winter.
