Job Description:

Apply, level and smooth coats of plasterer

Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings

Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency

Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim

Clean and prepare surfaces

Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces

Cure freshly plastered surfaces

Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required

Supervise other workers

Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages

Instruct apprentices

Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms   

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of High School is required.

-Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in drywall installing, plastering or finishing is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate OR Completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program is required OR a combination of three years of work experience and some high school, college or industry courses in plastering, drywalling or finishing will help to qualify.

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Repetitive tasks, Large workload, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods of time, Fast-paced environment, Combination of sitting, standing, walking.

-Worksite environment: Outdoors, dusty, at heights, noisy, cold

-Weight handling: Up to 23kg (50 lbs.)

-Language: English is required.

Salary: $30.00 hourly, 30 – 48 hours per week

Benefits: Transportation to and from work location is provided.

Important Information: This position will require working 40-48 hours per week in the summer, a minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed during the wintertime. Work schedule: from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm. Shifts may vary according to the business needs, flexibility in schedule is required. Weekend work and overtime required depending on business’ needs.
