Fermentation Process Operator – food and beverage processing

Job duties:

Operate machinery to process and bag, box or otherwise package food products

Perform corrective machine adjustments

Operate machinery to process and bottle, can or otherwise package alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages

Record production information

Observe gauges, computer printouts and video monitors to verify specified processing conditions

Clean machines and immediate work areas

Inform supervisor of mechanical malfunctions or product irregularities

Make adjustments to process variables

Maintain shift log of production and other data

Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines

Check products for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards

Operate machines that blend, flavour, condition, dry, flatten, strip or cut raw tobacco leaves

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

Completion of a one- to two-year college program in a related field is a strong asset.

-Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the field is required.

-Must take direction and abide by safety rules.

-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Sitting; Standing for extended periods; Fast-paced environment; Handling heavy loads; Manual dexterity; Hand-eye coordination; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Bending, crouching, kneeling.

-Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Resourcefulness, Team player.

-Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty, Cold/refrigerated, Odours, Hot

-Weight Handling: Up to 25 kg (55 lbs.)

-Language: English is required

Spanish o/a French is a strong asset.

Wage: $30.00 per hour. 40 Hours per week.

Benefits: Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.

Important Information: The regular schedule is from Wednesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility in the schedule is required, and overtime may be requested based on business needs.
