Job Description:
Prepare, clean, wash and sand surfaces to be painted.
Repair cracks and holes. Minor Drywall repairs.
Mix paint to desired colour and texture.
Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging.
Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
Drive to and from worksites.
Pick up paint and supplies from the store or shop.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary school is required
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the trade is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Physically demanding
Personal Suitability: Reliability, accurate, initiative, flexibility, client focus, effective interpersonal skills, team player, organized.
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs.).
Work site environment: Outdoors, At heights, Confined spaces, Noisy, Dusty.
Valid G Driver’s license is required
Language: English is required
Salary: $24.25 CAD hourly. 40 hours per week
Benefits:
Vehicle supplied for work related purposes. Travel expenses paid by the employer if the worker needs to relocate.
Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. Regular schedule is from Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Overtime and weekend work is available depending on the business needs.
