Associate Service Maintenance Worker / Service Maintenance Worker - Maintenance Technician (Evening) #16238

This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as an Associate Water/Waste Water Operator (Potable) or next highest level. The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

Assist in performing a variety of repair and maintenance duties on building structures for Operations and Maintenance. To include but not limited to:  plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering and locksmithing. Respond to and prioritize work orders. Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing problems and help determine repair or maintenance recommendations.

Associate Service Maintenance Worker (Evening)

Required:

• High school diploma/GED
• Three years of general maintenance work experience 
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, painting, plastering and locksmith fields
• Mechanical aptitude and leadership skills helpful
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and written and verbal instructions
• Will perform basic math functions
• Competencies for this position are work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision making, and dependability; may include financial, coaching, delegation, and planning
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers, and customers
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and stand, walk or stoop extensively
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds
• A valid US or Canadian drivers’ license

Preferred:

• Familiarity with University policies regarding building maintenance and security
