Job Summary: The Material Control Technician is responsible for maintaining efficient flow of both incoming and outgoing inventory and materials in the warehouse at the Nashville International Airport (BNA).
Essential Responsibilities:
Receives, inspects, catalogs, stores, physically handles, protects and distributes inventory and materialsStocks materials received in accordance with the inventory management system.
Stocks materials received in accordance with the inventory management system.
Issues over-the-counter materials and supplies based on approved requisition forms.
Operates equipment to move and unload materials. Trains other employees on how to safely and properly use forklifts and related equipment.
Performs data entry to document materials in inventory systems.
Assists tenants with freight received.
Receives and dispenses dangerous items such as acids, prescription drugs, firearms, ammunition and explosives.
Works with Finance and Purchasing to resolve invoice or purchase order issues.
Maintains and controls tools required by the Maintenance Department.
Assists in annual inventory of accountable material.
Provides shipping for internal customers and contractors.
Assembles materials based upon approved work orders.
Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
Follows all safety regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Inventory Systems: Knowledge of the principles and practices of materials control and inventory systems.
Safety and Security: Knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety and security.

Attention to Detail: Keen eye for attention to detail is critical for this role.
Data Entry and Retrieval: Skill in quickly and accurately entering data into and retrieving data from computer applications.

Required:
High School Diploma.
Less than two years of warehouse inventory and forklift experience.
Preferred:
Associate's degree or some college in a related field.
Valid Class D driver's license.
