Hardscape Construction Labourer

Oriole Landscaping Ltd. is a mid-town Toronto design/build firm that specializes in high-end residential construction. Oriole has been working diligently for 35 years in the industry and continues to refine its business culture and landscape construction processes.

We are looking for Hardscape Construction Labourers to join our team on full-time, permanent basis.

Main Job Duties Include:

• Mix mortar and prepare site for stone and brick works.
  
• Assist with installation of hardscape features such as stone patios, retaining walls, steps and walkways
  
• Assist with cutting and dressing natural stone slabs
  
• Load and unload building materials, machinery and tools and distribute/return them to the appropriate locations according to project plans.
  
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  
• Assist in digging ditches or trenches, backfill excavations.
  
• Level/compact earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, tampers and rakes.
  
• Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring braces, TPZs, traffic barricades, job-site enclosures, ramps and other temporary structures.
  
• Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete using saws, hammers, drills, nails, screws, or bolts.
  
• Assist with handling, installing, fertilizing and watering plant material.

This is a full-time position. Employees will be working outdoors in all types of weather. The workday starts at 6:45am at the Oriole yard. Hours will range from 40-44 hours per week with overtime available.

Qualification Requirements:

• At least 6 months experience in construction working with stones and/or heavy concrete retaining blocks
  
• No minimum education requirement
  
• Must be willing to handle physically demanding work, carry heavy loads up to 50 lbs
