JOB DETAILS

Salary: $18.60 / hour for 30.00 to 40.00 hours / week

Vacancies: 5 vacancies

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time

Start date: As soon as possible

Benefits:

- $100.00/month health spending account will be given after 6 months

Employment conditions: Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Night

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Specific Skills/Tasks:

• Assist with landscape constructions
• Tying
• Weed, prune and trim trees and plants
• Cut grass, Rake and collect refuse
• Remove litter and garbage
• Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
• Lay sod or seed
• Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
• Apply fertilizers
• Repair and maintain equipment
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
• Put up warning signs when needed.
• Maintain and care for company provided equipment, tools, and vehicles
• Attend training as requested by management.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.

Other Specific Tasks:

• Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
• Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawn mower
• Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls.
• Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and bushes.
• Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
• Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice down to keep people from falling
• Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
• Trim shrubs and pull weeds
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping
• Rake, mulch and prune the grounds as needed.
• Clean up worksites from debris and machinery
• Use power tools and machinery when needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts to remove snow.

Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Pick-up truck, Sprayer or duster, Weed trimmer/edger

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work site environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, Noisy, Dusty, Hot

Work Setting: Landscape contractor, Various locations, Landscape maintenance
